Ms. Arshia Ameer Mufti

has 30 years of experience as an educator teaching special education, interventional mathematics, fine art, industrial art and design. For the past 26 years she has been working at the Torrance Unified School District as a special education teacher. Ms. Mufti has been a staunch supporter of Niswa since its inception and became a board member in 2013. Ms. Mufti draws and paints in her free time and encourages underprivileged girls and women to empower themselves through the fine arts.  Ms. Mufti received her MA in graphic design from Punjab University in Lahore, Pakistan. Upon immigrating to the US, she received her MA in Industrial Arts from the University of Missouri, and a MA in Special Education from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
